Crowfoot Cattle Co. is located one hour East of Calgary and less than one hour South of the Drumheller Badlands, in the semi arid terrain where the Rocky Mountain foothills make their last few rolls before leveling off into the prairie.

The Jensen family started raising commercial Black Aberdeen Angus as early as 1940 and added Red Angus in the early 70's. Registered Red Angus seedstock production began in 1982 and Registered Black Angus seedstock was added in 1997.

1999 saw the purchase of the entire Walling Angus Ranch herd out of Winnifred, Montana and a package of 80 black heifer calves at the Cedar Hills Angus Ranch dispersal sale in Miles City, Montana; bringing Crowfoot Cattle Co. to a total of 800 breeding females.

Although Crowfoot Cattle does not show, their cattle have been purchased and shown to Championship status by some of the top showmen in the country. Crowfoot gives no credit to an animal because of its show status or purchase price. The cattle are selected based only on strict performance criteria. We stress practicality, efficiency and the importance of abundant red meat on a moderately framed animal. These are the traits that work well on dry land range, with long winters, where the cost of feed matters.

We believe Angus should not imitate the larger breeds but maintain their ability to convert roughage efficiently, calve easily and be the best maternal cattle available. Angus cattle, when properly crossed with complimentary breeds, will continue to lead the beef industry.
